LARRY’S LEARN TO KNIT – PURL STITCH

I thought it was about time I posted this purl stitch tutorial from Larry’s Learn to Knit book, my favourite knitting resource. Make sure you also check out my pages on casting on and plain stitch.

Once you can knit both plain and purl, you can pretty much make anything! Cast on, knit a row of plain, then a row of purl, and keep swapping between the two. This combination is called garter stitch and it’s what you’ll see on most knitted jumpers and other items. Stay tuned for the final installment, casting off (this is necessary if you ever want to actually finish anything!
